Scott Kalitta's butterflies were jammed open when the burst panel shook loose and slid back into the mouth of the injector hat on the Kalitta team's new Monte Carlo FC during testing at Phoenix. Scott got loose at 800ft and with the throttle hung open, hit the wall in the opposite lane twice before taking a trip along the wall into the desert. Scott has still not managed to cross license from TF to FC. The team are assessing the chassis which its believed took a bit of damage. The body looked less than serviceable after its second excursion to the wall in less than a fortnight.
